Review :
Boldly confronts the sexual whimsy of the world
In the book The Truth About Sex, Kay Arthur addresses many of the misconceptions the world has about sex, by applying God's lessons on the topic as found in Scripture. Whereas the world would paint sex as something functional, mechanical, and without emotional commitments or responsibilities, Arthur argues, "Sex, in its perfect form, brings the intimacy of not only truly belonging to another but longing for the presence of our beloved. It is hallowed purity, the union of a husband and wife that becomes a holy metaphor of the 'wife' God seeks for His Son, of the oneness He longs to have with his people."

Arthur boldly confronts the sexual whimsy of the world. She asserts that when people say they are merely sowing wild oats, they want to live and let live, and they do not want to judge others because of their sexual preferences, in reality they are distorting God's purpose for sex. Using passages from the Bible to contradict these improper attitudes, Arthur offers discussion...
great read!
purchased for my daughter who is 19. she says she has learned alot and was excited to see how to break down scripture to see what God really says about sex. kay arthur is a gifted teacher.

A Inconvenient Truth
As a single woman, this book has opened my eyes to the film of lies covering them for several years on the topic of sexuality. It hits at the core of the emptiness of cheapened, casual sex and challenges singles to stay pure regardless of stage in life or sexual history. The Scriptural references Arthur provides leave no question of God's view of sexual relationships outside of marriage and also explains God's provisions and sanctions as loving and protective of not only our bodies but psyches, family structure and nations' future. This is an important book for singles and parents whose children will confront the many voices and false teachings in our media and culture. Arthur approaches what many churches today cower away from discussing.

This updated and expanded version of the bestselling More Speaking of Sex, continues to deliver no-nonsense facts in a humorous yet scientific manner. With new chapters related to the Internet, and multi-faiths, parents will find the latest and greatest information about sexual health. Meg Hickling gently dispels misconceptions and unhealthy beliefs about sex by telling even more humorous stories from over 25 years of experience working with children, families, teachers, and other professionals.

Hickling touches on the physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual aspects of sexuality - a ""whole"" person approach to sex. She knows that many parents had no information given to them by their parents, their churches, or their schools, when they were growing up, and Hickling hopes this book will provide the knowledge parents need. Hickling provides age-appropriate information, guidelines on how to talk with children at various stages of their development, and examples of how to answer tough questions.

Review :
Like "What to Expect" for sex ed
Meg Hickling is a nurse who addresses all the stages of child develeopment and what the kids need to know as preschoolers, elementary kids, junior high, senior high--it is so helpful, and it was a great starting point to frame a discussion with my husband about what we should be telling our boys, 9 and 6. If you liked the "What to Expect" books the tone of this book will be very comfortable to you.

Great support for parents
Great book to help ease a parent into talking about sex with your kids. Helpful explanations for why it is important to start this conversation at a young age. Every parent should receive a copy when they take their baby home from the hospital.

wonderful
I was afraid I would be giving away too much information too soon but I don't believe in lying to my kids either. This author really helped me understand why it is so important to start young to protect our children. A knowledgeable child is a safe child!

I love the fact that I can read word for word how she reccomends explaining things if I'm not sure how to put something into words. And the funny stories just make it not so difficult to keep reading.

Thank you so much Meg Hickling!

"You're the Man... Act Like One!"

Look, I know you're not a mind reader, so I'm going to be blunt...

The majority of women like to be fucked. And I mean really fucked.

Yes, the media has lied to you.

Sure, there are some women who want to lie on their backs, look into your eyes, and gently rock back and forth, but most of us want you to channel the power of the Sun through your penis and give us a good, solid pounding. Act like you want it, for God's sake!

In this book, I'm going to lay out exactly what the majority of women want and show you exactly how to give it to them. I've got a section just for you and one for your female partner, so you can feel 100% comfortable letting loose on her vagina in the way she's secretly craving.

Some of the topics we'll cover...

The Alpha Male - It's more than just being an ex-fratboy douchebag, who thinks he's still on the high school football team. I'll clue you in.

Dirty Talk - Trust me, she wants it. If she didn't, she'd fuck a mime. Speaking of, did you know Marcel Marceau was divorced three times? Enough said.

Role Playing - How she really feels about pretending to be the babysitter, a whore, and a student looking for a little "extra credit." I'll take you through her top Alpha Male fantasies...including one so controversial, I can't even mention it here.

The Art of Being Assertive - Sack up and take control! What to do...and what not to do.

Sexual Communication - Both you and your partner have needs and good communication, both verbal and non-verbal, is crucial when it comes to getting them on the table. I'll show you how to communicate "Alpha Male Style." You'll learn what to say...and how to say it.

Now that I've got you all hyped up and extremely aware of the need to please your woman, let's make that happen!

What are you waiting for? Buy the book already!

Eve Kingsley is a feminist writer based in San Francisco. She teaches couples how to push the boundaries of their sexual relationships to create new levels of honesty, intimacy, and trust.

Review :
Better than most
I got this book and read it and was very happy with it. Most sex advice books suck, they only tell you stuff that anyone who is in a committed relationship with good communication would know, they are written for teens because they are the only ones who would not know that advice. This book on the other hand tells you about what girls want but don't know how to ask for, and tells you how to slowly introduce some new, fun sexual activities to your relationship. The only detraction I can say about this book is it is very simple, now that may sound like a good thing but I would have liked to explore some more of the psychological aspects of the sex described in the book and why we have lost this in our modern relationships because of the ways we are raised, but I like to explore things deeply. Over all though it was a good short read that actually did help my sex life a little. I would place this book right between "sex advice" and "kinky" and I would recommend this book to couples that...
Great Book

I grew up a dork ..... wish my dad ... or mom had given me this book back when I was in Highschool .... or Jr. High for that reason .... sure would have saved me a bunch of junk along the way !!!!

Couples Guide To Satisfying A Woman's Desires for an Alpha Male Lover
Like me, you were probably just innocently walking along or surfing when this the title of this book reached out and grabbed your curiosity and wouldn't let go. Since the book's title has your undivided attention, just what is the book about? It's a self-help guide/instruction book/sex manual written by a woman, a feminist no less, who obviously knows what she is talking about. How can a San Francisco feminist write a book like this one? As she says, "This is not a relationship advice book. This is a guide to pleasing your woman in bed." It's her experience that one of the reasons "why women like men who are more assertive in the bedroom" is feminism. "How could something that inspires women to be strong and in control be the same reason why she wants her partner to be an alpha male in the bedroom?" These are the questions that the author answers in this fascinating 113-page book. It's impossible to answer most of the questions brought up in this tome in this short review, but the...

This kind of subject Offer exceeded the anticipation, this place has chaned into a fantastic replace on myself, The thought came securely along with speedily He's a Stud, She's a Slut, and 49 Other Double Standards Every Woman Should Know

Double standards are nothing new. Women deal with them every day. Take the common truism that women who sleep around are sluts while men are studs. Why is it that men grow distinguished and sexily gray as they age while women just get saggy and haggard? Have you ever wondered how a young woman is supposed to both virginal and provocatively enticing at the same time? Isn’t it unfair that working moms are labeled “bad” for focusing on their careers while we shake our heads in disbelief when we hear about the occasional stay-at-home dad?

In He's a Stud, She's a Slut, and 49 Other Double Standards Every Woman Should Know, Jessica Valenti, author of Full Frontal Feminism, calls out the double standards that affect every woman. Whether Jessica is pointing out the wage earning discrepancies between men and women or revealing all of the places that women still aren’t equal to their male counterparts—be it in the workplace, courtroom, bedroom, or home—she maintains her signature wittily sarcastic tone. With sass, humor, and in-your-face facts, this book informs and equips women with the tools they need to combat sexist comments, topple ridiculous stereotypes (girls aren’t good at math?), and end the

Review :
REALLY good stuff!
I'm not being sarcastic at all--I'm a male reader, and I found this book to be REALLY insightful stuff. I also found double-standard #51: that these are double standards that WOMEN should know. Shouldn't men know these too? I mean, I'm trying to raise my two sons with better insights than the blueprint for sexist privilege they are being handed to them every darned DAY, and I want them to see past it. So right there in the title--BAM!--another unintended double-standard. This stuff's just as integral for men to consider.

Jessica Valenti's writing style is snappy, fun to read, and yet very good at disturbing the reader with insights that are dead-on but easily overlooked in our culture. I've followed the feministing website (which Jessica Valenti contributes to) for some time now, and I am constantly fascinated by the sheer amount of research and information that they find. I'm also disheartened by how often her work is dismissed as "thought police" or "hysteria"--but then,...
Not Just For Girls
Despite what you may think, this book doesn't just focus on double standards where women get the short end of the stick. It also talks about the crap these double standards cause men. The only critism I can think of is that #46 "He's Childless, She's Selfish" had a title that was misleading. I thought it was going to talk about how childfree women are considered selfish because apparently having kids is the only way women can contribute to society, society doesn't think twice about childfree men. Instead it talked about how single mothers are "selfish." While I agree what she was talking about there, I thought the title was misleading and she should have touched on childfree women as well.

Tackling the double standard - SPEAK OUT!
I think I finally get it. I think I finally understand what it is about Jessica Valenti in Full Frontal Feminism: A Young Woman's Guide to Why Feminism Matters and "He's a Stud" that bugs me.

You know how you go to a party and maybe your friend came in with this loud, obnoxious person? And in order to spend time with your friend (and being an introvert, you hate parties anyway) you must spend time with this obnoxious person? And you realize that everything about you and your friend's companion is opposite and there is NO WAY unless hell freezes over you will be friends? So you stand around, listening politely while the other person shoots off at the mouth, saying things you agree with, but you find yourself almost immediately inwardly opposing?

Well, that's how Valenti and I are. She's got some great ideas, but the way she writes totally grates on me. Little to no research or references, a too-casual approach, tons of f-bombs and lots of goofy, supposedly funny...

Review :
The Sex Ed. Book I'll Keep Coming Back To
I am the mother of two boys, ages 11 and 13, and I found this book to be the best ever sex education book. The first and perhaps most impressive aspect of the book is that it not only helps you see your child's sexuality through his/her eyes, it also portrays the parents' point of view in a helpful and sympathetic way.
The second element that makes the book so effective is its down-to-earth humor. The authors review the phases of children's sexual development and parental experiences with many funny real life examples that get you chuckling and relaxing. In fact, my boys heard me laughing as I read one section and came over to ask about it. They read the part I was reading and it lead to a very comfortable discussion.
A third aspect of the book I appreciated is that the authors have really done their research. They are not just giving their opinions, they provide concise research information which adds perspective.
Lastly, the authors are very comprehensive. They...
Fun page turner expertly explores sex conundrums for parents
What a great read! I almost finished it in one sitting. This book is not only well-written, it's also chock full of great advice. I found it much more accessible than Deborah Roffman's Sex and Sensibility. It was as if the author knew me and wrote the book for me -- I want my children to grow up with a good attitude about sex, but even so, I feel a little squeamish about these topics. As a mom of a pre-teen and a toddler, I'm glad there's a book out there like this that isn't exclusively focused on teens, though they're well-covered here too. This one's a keeper. Now I've got a great new shower gift idea!

A must buy!
I read the book and wish I had read it sooner and then I gave it to my 15 year old to read as well.

Much better than A chicken's guide to talking turkey with your kids about sex (preachy at best, as in religious zealots).

I think books are a useful tool to open up lines of communication and purchased this author's book, Everything You Never Wanted Your Kids to Know About Sex with a copy of Dr. Ruth's Sex for Dummies for my older teen. I also read and shared, Human Sexuality by Roger R. Hock.

It is my personal feeling that providing your child with information about thier bodies will help them keep themselves healthy. It does not mean we give them our blessings to do whatever they want nor does it mean we have the right to make choices for them. We do as parents have the responsibilities of educating them.

As I have multiple children and liked her reasonable approach I also purchased Dr. Ruth Talks To Kids for my pre-teen. I also...
